Graduate Assistants
We have vacancies for well-qualified and enthusiastic graduates to join our staff for one academic year starting in September 2026.
The roles will involve supporting children in class, in activities and games, and taking an interest in the boarding life of the School. There is an expectation that, with the support of the Head of Department of the Graduate Assistant’s specialist subject or the Head of Year in the Junior School, Graduate Assistants will, in time, deliver some lessons. An ability to assist with Sport and the co-curricular life of the school is vital.
Applicants are welcomed from any subject specialism. In 2026 we are particularly looking for applicants for Drama, Sport and Creative Arts. All roles will suit those seeking further experience of working with children prior to teacher training. The Graduate Assistant role can become a two year programme for successful applicants after the first year. In the second year of the programme applicants would become a Graduate Teacher and undertake the PGTA to gain QTS. A competitive remuneration package is offered which includes salary, inclusive of holiday, of £17,000 plus membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. Single accommodation within a shared house will be provided together with all meals taken with students during term-time. The graduates will enjoy accommodation and living expenses which include payment of all utility bills and council tax. Alternatively, we offer a salary of £25,000pa inclusive, for Graduates wishing to live off site.
