Freemen’s pupils brought magic to the stage at Leatherhead Theatre in a dazzling production of Beauty and the Beast. With 92 students – around 10% of the school – taking part, and a huge contribution from our Senior School, the performance was a triumph from start to finish. At times, you could easily forget you were watching a school show!

From the spectacular staging and lighting to the stunning costumes, every detail was spot-on. The orchestra in the pit was flawless, and the cast delivered their lines and songs with remarkable professionalism. Standout performances from the leads impressed everyone, but the whole cast sparkled, delivering moments of heartfelt emotion alongside plenty of laughter and hilarity. A particularly impressive feat saw Alessia D and Allegra P swap the roles of Belle and Mrs Potts on Thursday and Friday night, learning two full parts – and both were brilliant!

This show was a true showcase of talent, teamwork, and creativity, leaving audiences enchanted and reminding us all why Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time.
