We are immensely proud to celebrate a period of exceptional sporting achievement across the School, with pupils excelling in swimming, netball and cross country. These successes are a testament to the dedication, resilience and teamwork shown by our young athletes, as well as the expertise and commitment of our teaching staff who continue to inspire a lifelong love of sport.
A particular highlight has been the performance of our U14 netball squad, who have progressed to the semi-final of the prestigious Sisters in Sport Bowl competition, after an impressive 34-10 win against Exeter School. The team has demonstrated impressive determination and unity throughout the competition, overcoming strong opposition with skilful play and unwavering spirit. We wish them every success as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.
Our swimmers have also made an outstanding start to the year at the Surrey Schools Individual Swimming Competition. Congratulations go to Freddie M (L4) and Lucas C (U6), who both came 3rd in their respective events. It is wonderful to see our school being represented with great sportsmanship and professionalism and hugely encouraging to witness such achievements so early in the new year.
Adding to these achievements, we are delighted to congratulate Alex O (L4) on being selected to represent Surrey at the South-East Inter Counties Cross Country Championships. This is a significant honour and recognition of exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
Sport at Freemen’s nurtures confidence, leadership, resilience and friendships that last well beyond the playing field. Seeing our pupils strive for excellence while supporting one another so wholeheartedly is a source of great pride for us all.
We extend our congratulations to every pupil who has trained, competed and represented the School in recent weeks. Their achievements embody the values of commitment and enthusiasm that lie at the heart of Freemen’s, and we look forward to celebrating many more successes in the months ahead.
