City of London Freemen’s School is celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results, with pupils achieving highly across a broad and academically ambitious curriculum spanning Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, Humanities, English, Computing, and the creative and practical subjects.
More than four in ten grades awarded were at the highest grade 9, while almost two thirds of all grades were at grades 8–9 and 81% were at grades 7–9. Eight pupils achieved grade 9 in every subject they took, highlighting the exceptional individual achievement within an excellent year group.
The results also demonstrate the breadth of academic achievement across the cohort, with particularly strong outcomes in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Sciences, Music, Computer Science, Food Preparation & Nutrition, and a range of modern and classical languages.
Headmaster Roland Martin said:
“We are immensely proud of this year’s GCSE cohort and the academic success they have achieved across such a broad range of subjects. What stands out to me is not simply the number of pupils achieving the very highest grades, but the depth and breadth of achievement across the year group.
“From Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science to Latin, German and Chinese, Art, Music and Food Preparation & Nutrition, our pupils have demonstrated both academic ambition and a genuine breadth of interests. At Freemen’s, we ask a great deal of our pupils academically, while also encouraging them to explore their interests beyond the classroom.
“These results are a wonderful reflection of their hard work, curiosity, and commitment, as well as the dedication of our teaching staff. We are delighted to see our pupils achieving so highly while making the most of the many opportunities that a Freemen’s education offers.”
