We are delighted to release another episode of Hello Freemen’s, the podcast hosted by Sophie Blair and Paul Bridges. The topic this time is Making Choices and the aim is to help parents and students learn more about how to make the best choices as they navigate through GCSE, A Level, University options and into their careers.
There is detail on what support there is at Freemen’s and the episode is packed with expert analysis including advice from the Head of Sixth Form Mrs Stewart, Megan Haine (an alumni of Freemen’s now at Loughborough University) and Irrum Magre, a career consultant and former student advisor at Kings College University. We also sought advice from the Freemen’s students themselves, who had plenty to offer about how to ensure those who follow in their footsteps choose their options well.
Issues considered in this episode: • How to select GCSE and A Level choices • How to determine if Oxbridge is a viable choice • What support is there to help with making choices • What tools are there to support decision making • Whether there are subjects to avoid • Three or four A Levels? • What do Universities require nowadays • The importance of the co-curriculum
