Our Upper 3 Academic Scholars recently enjoyed an enriching trip to Linklaters, where they had the opportunity to explore the world of law, develop their presentation skills and collaborate with pupils from other City of London Schools.
The visit offered pupils valuable insight into the legal profession, with the opportunity to meet several high-profile lawyers working across a range of disciplines. Hearing about their experiences and areas of expertise gave pupils a greater understanding of the diverse career paths available within the legal sector.
Alongside this, pupils took part in a presentation skills workshop, developing their confidence and learning how to communicate their ideas effectively. The day also included an exciting collaborative challenge, which brought together pupils from City of London Freemen’s School, City of London School and City of London School for Girls.
Working in teams, pupils were tasked with competing for £100,000 in funding to support a range of causes. The challenge encouraged them to think critically, work collaboratively and present persuasive arguments to demonstrate why their chosen causes deserved support.
The experience provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to apply their academic skills in a real-world context, while learning from professionals and building connections with pupils from other schools.
We would like to thank City of London School and City of London School for Girls for hosting such a fantastic event, as well as Linklaters for providing our pupils with an inspiring insight into the legal profession.
