Freemen’s swimmers enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the IAPS National Finals, held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre, with pupils producing a series of impressive performances against some of the country’s strongest young swimmers.
Both the U10 and U11 boys’ teams achieved the notable success of qualifying for relay finals. The U11 boys competed in the Medley Relay Final, finishing 16th overall, while the U10 boys qualified for both the Medley and Freestyle Relay Finals, placing 17th and 20th respectively.
In the individual events, Tyler narrowly missed out on a place in the U11 50m Breaststroke Final by just one position. Quinn delivered an excellent performance in the U10 50m Breaststroke heats to secure a place in the final, where he swam superbly to finish 7th overall.
The girls also represented Freemen’s with distinction. Isabella competed in the U11 50m Butterfly, swimming strongly in a highly competitive heat. Gaia impressed in the U11 50m Breaststroke, achieving a personal best time in her heat before qualifying for the final. She continued her excellent form in the final, battling hard against a strong field to secure a fantastic 6th-place finish overall.
These results are a testament to the dedication, hard work and commitment shown by all the swimmers throughout the season. Congratulations to everyone involved on representing Freemen’s so proudly on the national stage.
