Head Girl Amelia Hart secured an A* in French and 2 As in History and English.

"I am so relieved," says Amelia Hart after learning she had confirmed her place at Oxford University to study History. "It has been so stressful, but the hard work has paid off."

Amelia is just one of many students leaving Freemen's to study History. She believes this is because the Department is so good.

"You can genuinely feel the teachers' passion for the subject and that they are so interested in it. It feels like a conversation. We all sit around in a circle and discuss history," she cheerfully explains.

Sixth Form has been the "best part" of Amelia's seven years at Freemen's:

"Everyone is so close and supportive. It is such a nice environment. I have never experienced that before. I will miss the people. I have grown up with them."

The step up from GCSEs to A level has been challenging though. "The workload is manageable, but you need to get into your own rhythm, " she advises nest year's A Level cohort. "Make the most of the societies, clubs and extra events that the school puts on. It makes it so much more interesting when you are back in the classroom."
