Two Upper 6 students, Oli and Nick were awarded a Gold and Silver award, respectively in the British Physics Olympiad. This places Oli in the top 15% and Nick in the top third of the 6,000 entries.

The British Physics Olympiad aims to encourage the study of physics and recognise excellence in young physicists through 12 annual Physics and Astronomy & Astrophysics competitions.

This is an incredibly challenging test that is designed to develop problem-solving skills, and rumoured that some university professors who have taken the test, have done poorly.

James Hallam, Head of Physics, commented that the results were "outstanding and well deserved".

Oli and Nick are planning to study engineering at university next year.
