Reflections
Headmaster, Mr. Martin expressed his pride in the students’ accomplishments, stating:
“Our students have demonstrated impressive determination and commitment to their studies, and their results speak for themselves. I’m particularly delighted that 38% of grades were awarded the highest grade of A* or 9, which marks a 2% increase from last year. Every member of this year’s cohort should be proud, especially after navigating the challenges of the pandemic in their early years of secondary education. It’s heartening to see their efforts rewarded under this year’s normal grading standards.” - Mr. Martin
The overall percentage of A* - A/7 - 9 grades has improved by 2% from last year, showcasing the school’s commitment to academic excellence. Furthermore, the percentage of pupils attaining all A* - A/7 - 9 grades has risen sharply by 11% to 57%, marking our best outcome in recent years.
“Our students’ success is a testament to the talent, resilience, and hard work they have displayed, as well as the unwavering dedication of our staff. Their guidance and support—both academically and pastorally—have been instrumental in helping our students achieve such outstanding results,” Mr. Martin
Beyond their academic accomplishments, Freemen’s students continue to excel in co-curricular activities, from music and drama to sports and community involvement. Mrs. Blair, Head of Senior School, remarked,:
“At Freemen’s, we aim to cultivate an environment where every student can discover their own path. I’m immensely proud of not only their academic success but also their enthusiasm for engaging in activities beyond the classroom. They’ve shown great dedication in supporting their peers and the wider community while fully embracing the opportunities within our school.” Mrs. Blair
Philip Woodhouse, Chairman of the Board of Governors, echoed the sense of pride:
“Following last week’s stellar A Level results, it’s wonderful to see this momentum carried through to our GCSE outcomes. A tremendous amount of effort goes into supporting our students, not just academically, but through a rich array of co-curricular activities that enhance their educational experience. These results reflect the dedication of our students, parents, and staff, and I’m excited to see many of these students take the next step into Sixth Form.” Mr. Woodhouse
