Students Oscar S in Upper 5 has gained Gold for his entry in the GCSE category of the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) Experimental Project competition. The award means he has now been invited to attend a prestigious reception at the Royal Society.

Meanwhile, Charlotte S in Lower 6 gained Silver in the A Level category.

The BPhO Experimental Project gives students hands-on experience of planning and undertaking an open-ended experiment and independent research, working in teams and communicating their findings.

"These are our best results in this competition, which is pleasing," commented James Hallam. "This is a testament to the hard work shown by these students."

Well done Oscar and Charlotte!
