Hospital fundraising by our School Nurse Manager

Mrs Barron started fundraising for the teachers at her children’s school, St Clements Catholic Primary school in Ewell village, to say thank you for all they were doing. The teachers were delighted with the £910.00 raised but wanted to donate it to the NHS. 

With this money, £450.00 has been used to purchase 45 personalised wash bags, 4 portable DVD players, 4 sets of headphones and 2 storage trolleys. The rest of the donations are going towards buying acetate to make roughly 1730 face shields to protect the health staff. 

The School has been making face shields daily, thanks to our DT staff who have been working hard to make face shields as they can for local hospitals, hospices, GPS and community teams who are struggling with PPE protection.

In addition to the items above, Mrs Barron has managed to get donations from local community via Epsom & Ewell families: with dvds, books, toys that went along side the gifts to paediatric a&e. 

The paediatric a&e were overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of the general public and want to say thank you. 

Mrs Barron has also been making personalised wash bags for health staff to wash their uniforms without cross contamination as they can put them in the wash with the uniform inside. 90 have already been donated with another 110 to be given out to various areas. 

Thank you also goes to our parent community at Freemen’s who have been helping with supplying fabric, threads and buttons towards the facebook group of sewers to make scrubs, wash bags, scrub caps and ear savers. The group is called scrubs for Epsom and Ewell.
