Mrs Sarah Parkin (Old Free & Head of English) and Mrs Reema Agarwal (Development & Alumni Relations Officer) launched the Freemen’s Pen Pals project to a group of Scholars.
The Freemen’s Pen Pals project aims to engage Freemen’s pupils with elderly members of our alumni community who are currently in isolation. We hope that this positive interaction through letter exchanges between current pupils and alumni will help to alleviate the stress and loneliness experienced by elderly members of our Freemen’s community over the lockdown and beyond.
The first batch of letters have been sent out and we have been thrilled to receive responses from Old Frees in the UK, Hawaii, Israel, Philippines, USA and Canada so far!
